Gifts to the Future

Whatever you’re celebrating, it’s officially last minute. But, do not panic.

A thoughtfully delivered gift “card” can be wonderful. Just, do everyone a favor and skip the plastic card part.

Cardless Gift Carding Alternatives

  • Buy, print out, and decoratively “wrap” digital gift cards
  • Buy paper gift cards from local businesses
  • Cash, check, digital payment
  • Coupons for experiences, favors, and random acts of kindness
  • Plans for a shopping “trip” that’s your treat
  • Gift an experience you know they will love

It’s (Truly) the Thought That Counts

  • Draw a picture or write a heartfelt note about what you’re gifting
  • Print out photos of items you thought they might love
  • Gift the discovery of an amazing store/seller/website that you know they will love
  • Build a Pinterest board of things you think they will love so they can choose a gift
  • Homemade coupons don’t need to be fancy – they need to be empathetic – show your loved ones you really see and hear them with what you choose to include

PS – As the mom of teens, I promise you, this might even be THE BEST GIFT.

My child’s absolute favorite clothing store doesn’t have gift cards. I stressed about guessing how to make their “right” sweet sixteen wish come true there. In the end I invited them to shop online together, and they were actually delighted. They got exactly what they wanted and were very excited when everything arrived.
